Remove All Books from Bookcases!

De-Clutter!
People collect an amazing quantity of junk. Consider this: if you haven’t used it in over a year, you probably don’t need it.

• If you don’t need it, why not donate it or throw it away?
• Remove all books from bookcases.

Hoping to help my friend who’s just put her house on the market, I e-mailed her a link to a website with lots of house-selling pointers. I had a feeling that she might find a new suggestion or two.  She wrote back soon after, politely explaining that the book removal tip wasn’t practical.  She owns hundreds of  books and couldn’t fathom how getting rid of them could help sell her house.  Even 3000 miles away, without ever having set foot in her house that will eventually belong to somebody else, I can easily imagine the infinite volumes that “clutter” her house.  Personal experience.  Practically every room in our house is overrun with spines and pages — they’re all over the place!  I know that if I were looking for a new house and found one devoid of books, I’d feel very uncomfortable. And so, I urge all homeowners to hold on to their books — to buy as many as they can!  Especially if they one day plan to sell.
