Meet my top notch staff: Two bears and a one-eyed monkey

I brought back a simple beaded necklace from Kona for my chief of staff, Eleanor.  Hard to find a more lovable and diligent bear in the world.  She sits on the beautiful wooden chair that Myles made years ago, and is in charge of seeing that my cell phone is properly charged and ready to go. Her communication skills melt my heart.

And I have another bear called Eleanor, who I discovered while shopping for kitchen accessories.  She’s a traveling bear and sits right behind the driver’s seat, always strapped in, and ever-ready to provide loving company for my back seat passengers.  She’s also the only one who knows exactly how to get to where we need to go.  Eleanor, my outside bear,  has an uncommon weakness for magazines like Vogue, and I try to meet her half-way.

Currently collecting Monkey Disability Insurance, with one eye missing (lost on duty as my fearless personal assistant at the Oregon Symphony, where she comforted so many wandering guest artists and addled staffers), Cecile Simian now rests most of the time. In her middle years, she climbed the rungs to become Chief Accountant at LightYear Resources, and  then after it dissolved, I carried her off to the Symphony.  We’re all so glad she’s home now.
